Confio Enhances Award-winning Ignite Software to Help DBAs Stay Ahead of Database Performance Issues
BOULDER, Colo. - Apr. 25, 2012 - Today Confio™ Software debuted Ignite 8.2, a newly enhanced version of its award-winning database performance software, Ignite. Ignite 8.2 extends Confio's mission to deliver tools that identify, pinpoint and resolve the pain points experienced by SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Sybase database administrators (DBAs).
Enhancements for SQL
Ignite 8.2 offers expanded support for SQL Server, including more expert advice to resolve problems, graphical analysis of execution plans, and dashboard components to allow DBAs to track more instances and instantly know which require attention. In addition to SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, Ignite 8.2 also covers 2012. This includes 169 new wait types for more detailed response-time analysis.
Ignite 8.2 offers new wait-time and performance monitoring features specifically in support of Oracle Exadata, RAC and ASM. These large systems are used in the most complex and critical database deployments, and Ignite 8.2 gives DBAs new tools to manage the complexity associated with these high performance Oracle options.
With Ignite 8.2 Oracle DBAs can leverage monitoring for 22 new wait events and enhanced RAC and ASM support. Ignite 8.2 also gives DBAs performance visibility to ensure their Oracle hardware and software are configured optimally for their specific application. Also, SQL_ID collection and display has been added to unify naming.
Enhancements for all
Custom monitoring charts for Ignite users across all database types make it easier to track any resource or business process metric accessible through an SQL query. This flexibility makes it easy for DBAs to watch highly customized parameters on an ongoing basis, all from Ignite's simple graphical interface.
For VMware, Sybase, DB2, Oracle and SQL Server, Ignite 8.2 features include multi-byte character support, which is essential for the rapidly growing technology markets in China, Korea and Japan.
