Oracle recognized in award for innovation

Oracle has been awarded with a Manufacturing Leadership 100 prize for its Sun Supply Chain Transformation project, in which the organization used its own database technology to support a supply chain outsourcing venture that helped consolidate and streamline operations.
The database developer was also recently recognized in a less direct way, as 24 of its customers were awarded with ML 100 prizes for innovative projects that were directly supported by Oracle solutions. These projects were all, in some way, transformational for the businesses completing them, enabling essential operational, productivity or fiscal gains.
Leslie Clark, vice president of manufacturing and engineering for Elkay Manufacturing, explained that manufacturers often face major challenges when working to develop innovative processes, making the right supporting technologies key when enabling changes.
"Factories need a centralized, single source of truth upon which to effectively manage their performance. With tight product margins and competition looming, a small change can have lasting consequences. Elkay selected Oracle applications to help make better business decisions in running our plants and driving quality improvement initiatives," said Clark.
To take full advantage of Oracle application and database solutions, organizations can enlist the aid of third-party Oracle performance tools, which can help companies make the most of their database systems.
