<p><strong><br /> BOULDER, Colo. - May 13, 2013 - </strong><a href="http://www.macu.com">Mountain America Credit Union</a> has selected <a>Ignite by Confio Software</a> to help integrate development and operations all the while improving performance of its internal database systems. The benefit of Ignite to Mountain America has been faster database problem resolution and better user experiences.</p>
<p>Like most large enterprises, Mountain America regularly updates and refines its applications. However, not every update was instantly successful, leading to issues including some users being unable to login to certain applications, impairing their ability to successfully deliver high-quality service to credit union members. However, now that Mountain America has implemented Ignite across its database environment, the credit union can spot trends and start making plans to resolve issues within its environment before user problems strike. In addition, Mountain America developers can view their servers so they can see how their code is hitting the database. This increases the collaboration between development and operations, resulting in better support for business applications.</p>
<p>"Before Ignite, we could spend hours trying to troubleshoot structural and performance problems with external applications," said Jeremy Allen, database administrator for Mountain America Credit Union. "Using Ignite, we can quickly find bottlenecks and make suggestions to our vendors and internal developers to improve our systems. We used several different products in our quest for a great tool, and while all of them had their individual strengths, Ignite was much easier to navigate and use to find bottlenecks."</p>
<p>"Mountain America Credit Union serves hundreds of thousands of members across several states so availability and usability of its mobile applications, online account access, branch services and ATM machines needs to be second-to-none," said Tony Kraayenbrick, Confio’s account manager. "Helping high-quality organizations like Mountain America deliver their best to customers is what Ignite is designed to do."</p>
<p>Ignite is a database performance monitoring solution that improve service and reduces the cost of operating Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and Sybase databases in physical or VMware environments. Ignite also enhances integration between teams, creating a more fluid DevOps environment in enterprise organizations.</p>
<p>"We are committed to providing exceptional service to our members, and the right technology is critical to helping us do that," continued Allen from Mountain America.</p>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - Apr. 15, 2013 - </strong><a href="http://www.bloorresearch.com/" target="_blank">Bloor Research</a> and <a href="/">Confio Software</a> will discuss the advantages of using a wait-based approach to measure database performance in a free, <a href="http://marketo.confio.com/DatabaseRTA_April2013_RegPage.html" target="_blank">live webinar</a> on Thursday, Apr. 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET/2:00 p.m. GMT. In this webinar, called “Best Practices in Database Performance Management with Bloor Research,” Bloor Research Director Philip Howard will cover the three key elements for monitoring database performance and how a wait-based performance approach will help ensure optimum database performance. Sr. DBA and performance expert, Neil Hambly, will demonstrate how <a href="/performance/database/" target="_blank">Confio Ignite</a>, a wait-based performance monitoring tool, can be used to proactively manage database performance</p>
<p>According to Bloor Research, a wait-based approach to measuring database performance is not only more intuitive, but is also more effective in identifying the root cause of database performance problems. Most database monitoring tools focus on server health. Server performance metrics provide a lot of information about what is happening but not about why it is happening. A time or wait-based approach – monitoring what the database is waiting on – is far more effective and enables DBAs to take a proactive approach to database performance management.</p>
<p>“By integrating a wait-based approach for database performance monitoring – also called Response Time analysis – into Ignite, our customers can quickly pinpoint delays in their end user service. This key feature enables DBAs, developers and IT managers to identify and troubleshoot performance problems before they disrupt production or performance,” said Hambly.</p>

<h4><em>Introduced at COLLABORATE 13, the latest version of Confio Ignite drives enhanced database monitoring and greater collaboration between operations and development teams</em></h4>
<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - Apr. 8, 2013 - </strong>Today <a>Confio Software</a> released version 8.3 of its award-winning <a href="/performance/oracle/ignite/#2">Ignite</a> database performance monitoring software. Ignite 8.3 feature enhancements were developed specifically for database administrators (DBAs) who work with large database deployments, proactively monitoring large numbers of instances around the world. For environments with enterprise wide authentication, security and compliance needs it also supports Microsoft Active Directory Server authentication. </p>
<p>In addition to enabling Oracle DBAs to better manage and monitor their global enterprise database environments, Ignite 8.3 provides the tools to foster greater collaboration between development teams and operations. Ignite provides database developers with direct visibility to production, staging and test servers so they can witness the real behavior of their code hitting loaded databases. This level of visibility makes developers self-sufficient – removing the need for a DBA middle man – and ensures that performance considerations are built-in to all new developments so the end result is reliable for users.</p>
<p>“Ignite 8.3 creates bridges in enterprises where operations, development and database performance are running in a 24/7 global environment,” said Don Bergal, chief marketing officer for Confio. “Connecting teams of developers and DBAs worldwide has proven to be highly effective in bringing new applications to market faster and delivering a higher performing end-user experience.” </p>
<p> One example of how Ignite has driven productivity and improved performance is at <a href="http://www.indiana.edu">Indiana University</a> (IU). By implementing Ignite, IU was able to unite its performance management – including database, VM and physical host indicators – into one comprehensive, single-pane view, giving the University the ability to safely share performance information across DBAs, developers and system administrators.</p>
<p> “This seamless collaboration across our development and operations teams not only ensured that we could solve performance issues quickly, but the single-pane view of Ignite helped us break down silos and integrate processes so that everyone is working together, rather than in their own box,” said Dan Young, manager of enterprise database administration for Indiana University.</p>
<p>Confio will demonstrate the many features of Ignite 8.3 at booth No. 813 at <a href="http://collaborate13.ioug.org/p/cm/ld/fid=112">COLLABORATE 13,</a> taking place April 7 – 11 in Denver. Those who visit Confio’s exhibit can see first-hand new features in Ignite 8.3 including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Ignite Central – Perfect for managing larger, distributed environments, Ignite Central provides a unified dashboard of both database performance and alert status across all database servers.</li>
<li>Active Directory Integration – For companies that have embraced Windows Server Active Directory to manage domain users and security settings, Ignite 8.3 integrates directly to allow domain users to login and use Ignite, dramatically simplifying the authentication process.</li>
<li>Alert groups  - An alert group simplifies the maintenance of alerts, while ensuring consistent alerting across multiple database instances.</li>
<li>Pre-configured Oracle alerts – With Ignite 8.3 Confio introduces new preconfigured alerts, allowing Oracle DBAs to quickly select and implement an alert, saving them valuable time and improving process standardization.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong style="line-height: 1.5;">BOULDER, Colo. - March 5, 2013 -</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> </span><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Today </span><a style="line-height: 1.5;" href="/">Confio Software</a><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> announced that </span><a style="line-height: 1.5;" href="http://www.usafunds.org/">USA Funds®,</a><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> a nonprofit college access and success organization, has chosen Confio’s </span><a style="line-height: 1.5;" href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite for SQL Server</a><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> as its database performance management software solution. Ignite’s response-time based database monitoring helps USA Funds improve IT performance and increase collaboration across multiple departments by providing secure, role-specific access to servers in the production environment.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> </span><span style="line-height: 1.5;">“Prior to using Ignite, we had limited insight into the load and impact on our environment and applications via SQL Server,” said Greg Stafford, database administrator for USA Funds. “With Ignite, our database, hosting, application development and information security teams all have uniform and role-specific access to the Ignite console and comprehensive report distributions. This enables our stakeholders to have a complete understanding of the health of different data systems and applications.”</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Recognizing the benefits of leveraging Ignite across multiple IT departments, USA Funds now relies on Ignite to increase collaboration and help boost productivity throughout their organization. For example, USA Funds’ application development team was recently able to identify multiple areas where they could potentially increase efficiency simply by modifying how they managed jobs throughout the application. Ignite has also enabled the hosting and infrastructure teams to address issues that were impacting SQL Server and host server performance due to template implementations.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Ignite has also helped USA Funds improve the performance of its SQL Server database in its VMware environment. Said Stafford, “Ignite enabled us to see how our applications interact with VMware hosts over the course of a day, week or month. This helped us resolve critical memory issues within the environment and improve the overall performance and end-user attitude toward the applications.”</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">“Utilizing Ignite to increase visibility and collaboration across multiple departments is one of the key ways innovative organizations like USA Funds have been able to leverage Ignite to its fullest,” said Justin Boehm, Confio Regional Account Manager. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with USA Funds and helping them further improve efficiency across their organization.”</span></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>Company credits 2012 growth to strong adoption by development and DBA teams</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - February 20, 2013 -</strong> <span style="line-height: 1.5;">Today </span><a style="line-height: 1.5;" href="/">Confio Software</a><span style="line-height: 1.5;">, the makers of the award-winning Ignite database performance management software, announced that it achieved 69 percent year-over-year revenue growth in 2012. The announcement once again marks an impressive year of growth for Confio as it recorded similar percent revenue growth in 2011.</span></p>
<p>Confio attributed its significant growth in 2012 to increased adoption by both development and production teams, as customer need for rapidly deploying and supporting new applications continues to build.  The continual increase in the volume of data under management and the shift to virtual and cloud infrastructure also drove many IT departments to seek benefit from Ignite. The results reflected growing success in addressing a significant challenge for many organizations – improving collaboration across the entire IT team including developers, architects, QA engineers, and Production DBAs.  Ignite facilitates database DevOps, extending Agile methods to the operations team, to bridge the gap between developers and production DBAs. By breaking down departmental silos – especially between developers and database administrators – Confio Ignite customers are able to quickly implement change and bring software products to market faster and at lower cost.</p>
<p>“Fostering collaboration among developers and DBAs while providing real-time visibility into the production environment is a key factor in Ignite’s success and has been for years,” said Matt Larson, Confio’s founder and CEO. “As more organizations extend their Agile development practices to include production IT operations, bringing developers and DBAs together to jointly focus on end user application performance will become even more important. Ignite’s role in  helping organizations achieve this goal, combined with our commitment to product quality, helps ensure that Confio’s impressive growth trajectory will continue through 2013.”</p>
<p>Other significant achievements for Confio and its employees in 2012 include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Confio founder and CEO Matt Larson was named a finalist in the Ernst &amp; Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 program</li>
<li>Confio Senior DBA Thomas LaRock earned his Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) certification for SQL Server</li>
<li>Confio opened a new European headquarters for EMEA operations in London.</li>
<li>Confio was named #1621 on the Inc. 500|5000 list, which recognizes the fastest growing, privately held companies in America.</li>
<li>Confio was named #317 to the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.</li>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - January 15, 2013 -</strong>  Next week <a href="/">Confio Software</a> will host a free, <a href="http://marketo.confio.com/OracleSQLQueryTuningDec2012_RegPage.html">live webinar</a> offering tips and best practices for fine tuning an Oracle execution plan. In this webinar, called “Fine Tune Oracle Execution Plans for Performance Gains,” attendees will learn how to gain a solid understanding of the different operators found in an execution plan, their order of execution and how they consume resources. Armed with this knowledge, DBAs can tune their execution plans accordingly to ensure top performance of their Oracle database.</p>
<p>The webinar will take place Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. UTC/GMT. Confio’s Sr. DBA and performance expert, Janis Griffin, will host the webinar and demonstrate the best methods for collecting execution plans, and provide tips on tuning the best execution plan.</p>
<p> “One of the most common performance issues DBAs encounter are bad execution plans,” says Griffin. “Many try to resolve bad executions plans by setting Oracle optimizer-related parameters or even hidden underscore parameters. I believe DBAs will get better results if they understand the current execution plan and why the Oracle optimizer is deciding to choose that plan.”</p>
<p>Janis Griffin is a Senior DBA with over 20 years of database administration experience including design, development and implementation of critical database applications. Before coming to Confio, Janis held DBA positions primarily in the telecom industry, working with both real-time network routing databases and OLTP business to business applications. Janis was also a Principal Architect and Senior Manager, mentoring other DBAs on best practices in database performance tuning.</p>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - January , 2013 -</strong>  One of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world, <a href="http://www.embraer.com/">Embraer,</a> is using <a href="/performance/oracle/ignite/">Ignite 8</a> database performance monitoring from <a href="/">Confio Software</a>, the company announced today. São Paulo, Brazil-based Embraer is using Ignite to help it manage performance of its Oracle Standard Edition (SE) database.</p>
<p>Embraer’s use of Ignite allows the enterprise to continue to use Oracle SE, even without Oracle Tuning and Diagnostic Packs, which are included in the more costly Oracle Enterprise Edition (EE). Because Ignite is a full-featured solution that monitors and analyzes Oracle SE database performance, companies can have all the performance monitoring benefits of EE while still using the more cost-efficient Oracle SE. Ignite is the one monitoring solution that identifies, analyzes and resolves all of the performance problems affecting applications and users allowing DBAs to build a complete picture of the database performance.</p>
<p>“In several cases we were able to act on issues presented by the application before it became a issue, without bothering our end-user,” said José Maria Marin Galeano, database administrator for Embraer. “The navigation tips and the issues hints are specially valuables in daily activities.”</p>
<p>In addition to its primary use in the Oracle SE environment, Embraer also uses Ignite to help monitor its Microsoft SQL Server databases. Embraer was able to consolidate its monitoring and better align the company’s database services with various IT departments because Ignite shows the same metrics for all the DBMS environments.</p>
<p>“As a global company with massive operations, Embraer has no room for technology errors, which is why database performance is a critical issue,” said Bryan Applegate, senior account executive for Confio. “By working with our partner Mainwork, we were able to show the benefits of Ignite to Embraer and how it can help improve cost efficiency as well as DBA resources. As a result, Embraer has the tools its needs to help ensure its Oracle and Microsoft databases continue to support the business.”</p>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - Nov.26, 2012 -</strong> <a href="/">Confio Software</a> will hold a free, <a href="http://marketo.confio.com/IHateWaits_RegPage.html">live webinar event</a> on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 1:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. UTC/GMT. This informational session will provide SQL Server database administrators (DBAs) with a better understanding of wait types and how they impact database performance. The webinar, titled: I Hate Waits! Get Greater Performance Tuning Gains Using SQL Server Waits and Queues, will be hosted by Neil Hambly, one of Confio’s senior SQL Server DBAs.</p>
<p>“Some DBAs might think there can’t be anything new to learn when it comes to waits and queues performance tuning methodology, but in fact, we’ll demonstrate how the best SQL Server DBAs can quickly navigate through DMV tables to identify the waits causing the greatest performance problems, while skillfully ignoring those that don’t matter,” said Hambly.</p>
<p>DBAs who possess an in-depth understanding of wait types and how they impact the SQL Server environment are more likely to have highly performing databases that serve their business needs. Hambly will provide real-world examples to help illustrate the types of waits that are causing the greatest degradation of performance levels, and how to use this information to drastically improve SQL Server performance. </p>

In this webinar, called “Go Beyond OEM: Alternative Oracle Performance Tools and Techniques,” attendees will learn about a simple approach for quickly finding and resolving Oracle database problems by utilizing response time analysis.</p>
<p>“The number one question we get from Oracle DBAs is ‘how is Ignite different from OEM?’” said Dean Richards, Confio’s senior Oracle database administrator and webinar presenter. “The fact is 90 percent of our Oracle customers use both Ignite and OEM SQL Diagnostic and Tuning Packs. The ones who aren’t using the Packs are running Oracle Standard Edition and they don’t have access to those tools. Ignite offers critical insight into Oracle performance which DBAs just can’t get with OEM.”</p>
<p> The webinar will take place Thursday, Nov. 15 at 1:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. UTC/GMT. Richards will host the webinar and engage users with real-life case studies to demonstrate the techniques.  His in-depth knowledge of both OEM and Ignite will provide valuable insight for Oracle DBAs attending this event.</p>
<p>Richards has over 20 years of performance tuning, implementation, and strategic database architecting experience. Richards formerly served as a technical director for Oracle Corporation, managing and performing consulting work on several key accounts.</p>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - October 30, 2012 -</strong> <a href="/">Confio Software</a> helped <a href="https://www.willamettedental.com/">Willamette Dental Group</a>, the largest multi-specialty group dental practice in the Pacific Northwest, improve its software application performance with <a href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite for SQL Server</a>, Confio’s signature database performance monitoring solution. Using Ignite, Willamette Dental Group was able to more quickly resolve trouble tickets, accurately pinpoint database bottlenecks that were hindering performance of its legacy and vendor applications, and improve the efficiency of its business.</p>
<p>Ignite’s agentless architecture monitors database performance without installing any software on the production systems. As a result of this unique architecture, Willamette Dental Group can effectively use Ignite for SQL Server without any memory implications.</p>
<p>“We had performance issues in both our legacy applications and those recently implemented by a vendor,” said Edward Sandoval, senior network engineer for Willamette Dental Group. “With Ignite, our team can monitor the database, identify slow-running queries and use that information for optimizing the applications.”</p>
<p> Ignite for SQL Server, Oracle, VMware, DB2 and Sybase is the one monitoring solution that identifies, analyzes, and resolves all of the performance problems affecting applications and users. Unlike other software, Ignite doesn’t just show health metrics, it applies wait-time analysis to correlate the most important performance data to build a complete picture of the database performance for the DBA, developer, and DBA manager.</p>
<p>Additionally, Ignite gathers real time session data, server resource levels, and query information. It analyzes historical trends of response time over different dimensions – such as wait event, program or partition. Then Ignite correlates the data to lead the DBA through the most important problems and solutions.</p>
<p> “Willamette Dental Group is a great example of how Ignite can be an easy to use, yet powerful tool to help companies with their overall IT environments,” said Tony Kraayenbrink, Confio’s account manager. “With Ignite in place, Willamette can solve issues and get back to working on its strategic initiatives, which are developing technology resources that help the company provide excellent insurance coverage to its customers.”</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio's Ignite Software Improves Online
Banking Services for Wescom Resource Customers&nbsp;</h1>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - October 17, 2012 -</strong>&nbsp;Today
<a href="/">Confio Software</a> announced that Wescom Resources
Group (WRG), a provider of software and technology service
solutions for credit unions, has chosen Confio's <a
href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite for SQL Server</a> as
its database performance management software solution. Ignite's
real-time database monitoring helps WRG deliver improved online
banking services to its customers by resolving problems faster and
providing better security and visibility.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Database performance issues can have a direct impact on our
clients' critical business functions," said John Best, CTO of WRG.
"With Ignite, wait time in the five biggest database servers was
reduced from days to hours - a huge increase in throughput that
directly benefited Wescom customers."</p>

<p>&nbsp;WRG's MemberEdge electronic banking platform is the online
banking backbone of more than 50 credit unions, serving more than
100,000 end users each day. Ignite for SQL Server offers WRG
developers more visibility into database functions so they can
ensure that each aspect of their customers' online banking
solutions - from communications and bill-pay options to security
and account integration - is performing at or above an optimal
level.</p>

<p>&nbsp; That additional visibility also helps Wescom flush out
performance issues that can be extremely difficult to pinpoint.
According to Best, "Ignite was able to help us identify when a
vendor code was calling a stored procedure millions of times per
day and causing extreme latency issues. With Ignite charts as
proof, the vendor was able to make changes to eliminate this
tremendous performance drain and get back to normal business
function."&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;"Ignite for SQL Server enables WRG to maintain a chain of
great customer service that starts with WRG clients and continues
through to the many credit union members that rely on the company's
online banking solutions every day," said Rich Adams, Confio
Regional Account Manager. "With Ignite, WRG developers can drill
down to exactly where performance issues may be happening and fix
it before it interrupts that chain."</p>

<p>&nbsp;Ignite for SQL Server is an award-winning software
solution that identifies, analyzes and resolves performance
problems affecting applications and users. Unlike other software,
Ignite doesn't just show health metrics; it applies response-time

<h1 class="press-release">Mimeo.com Selects Confio Ignite for SQL
Server for Database Performance Management</h1>

<p><strong>Boulder, Colo., Oct 15, 2012</strong> -&nbsp;Today <a
href="/">Confio Software</a> announced that the nation's leading
online printing company, <a
href="http://www.mimeo.com/">Mimeo.com</a>, has selected <a
href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite for SQL Server</a> to
help troubleshoot database performance issues in Mimeo's technology
platforms.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Mimeo needed to determine the root cause of a performance
slow-down that was adversely affecting its ability to quickly
deliver to its customers. Across all technology platforms,
including the company's website, its production and reporting, the
database administrators (DBAs) were working toward identifying the
bottleneck that was causing the performance impediments. Upon
implementing Ignite for SQL Server as a free trial, the company was
able to quickly spot the problem:&nbsp; historical and unnecessary
database snapshots that were consistently running during the
day.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"This was an immediate win and helped show value within a
few days," said Mark Workman, senior DBA for Mimeo.</p>

<p>&nbsp; After the success of the trial, Mimeo determined that
implementing Ignite across its organization would bring overall
value to company and improve database performance because issues
were clearly defined and fixed, ultimately saving Mimeo time and
money, and enabling greater communications between technology and
business users.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"Ignite has helped bridge the gap between our developers
and operations team, allowing us to facilitate real-time feedback,"
continued Workman.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"For companies like Mimeo, which rely entirely on
technology-based platforms for its core business, we know that
database performance isn't just a nice-to-have, it's mission
critical," said Jon Freeman, Confio's vice president of sales.
"Ignite provides the simple and elegant solution DBAs need to get
their database running on all cylinders and to assure their
business clients that customers can be served smoothly."</p>

<p>&nbsp;Ignite for SQL Server is an award-winning software
solution that identifies, analyzes and resolves performance
problems affecting applications and users. Unlike other software,
Ignite doesn't just show health metrics; it applies response-time
analysis to correlate the most important performance data to build
a complete picture of the database performance for the DBA,
developer and DBA manager. Ignite database performance monitoring
software is also available for Oracle, Sybase, DB2 databases, as
well as for databases running over virtual servers on VMware.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio to Offer DBA Success Strategies
for Moving Oracle to VMware in Live Webinar</h1>

<p><strong>Boulder, Colo.,Sept. 19, 2012</strong> - <a
href="/">Confio Software</a> will hold a free, live webinar event
on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 2:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. UTC/GMT
discussing tips and success strategies for database administrators
(DBAs) moving their Oracle databases from physical machines to
VMware. The webinar will be hosted by Senior DBA Dean Richards and
VMware Database Specialist and Oracle Certified Master, Don
Sullivan. Together Richards and Sullivan will discuss best
practices for deployment on both standard and RAC systems,
performance considerations, and dig into some of the finer
implementation details.</p>

<p>Attendees will also receive answers to common questions
associated with a physical to VMware database transition,
including:</p>

<ul>
<li>How do I configure Oracle for VMware? Is there a different
configuration for RAC?</li>

<li>Since my databases are sharing physical resources with other
VMs, how do it's not impacting my database performance?</li>

<li>What is the impact of VMware vMotion dynamic changes on the
Oracle instances? &nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<p>"The decision to move your Oracle database to VMware can offer
many benefits, including improved performance and high
availability," said Richards. "However, concerns about losing
visibility into their database or being able to control the
physical resources supporting their database cause many DBAs to be
wary of the move. We hope to dispel some of that wariness by
providing tips, best practices and proven strategies to ensure your
deployment is a success."</p>

<p>Those interested in attending the webinar can register <a

<h1 class="press-release">Confio IgniteVM Helps Indiana University
Simplify its Database Management</h1>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>IU gains a single-pane
view of its SQL Server and Oracle databases on
VMwar</em>e&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Boulder, Colo., Aug. 27, 2012- Today <a href="/">Confio
Software</a> announced that <a
href="http://www.indiana.edu/">Indiana University (IU)</a> has
implemented Confio <a href="/performance/vm/ignite/">IgniteVM</a>
software to simplify and streamline performance of its SQL Server
and Oracle databases running on VMware. By implementing Ignite, IU
was able to unite its performance management, including database,
VM and physical host indicators, in one comprehensive, single-pane
view, giving the University the ability to safely share performance
information across DBAs, developers, and system administrators.</p>

<p>&nbsp;IU recognized the benefits of running its hundreds of
enterprise class databases on VMware early on, and today the
University has more than 2,000 total virtual machines. However,
prior to Ignite, the database team had little visibility into
VMware changes, such as Vmotion and server resizing events, which
could potentially impact database applications. Now, IU has a
solution that allows DBAs to see the root causes of problems
directly, without having to engage virtualization administrators to
capture raw data. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;"With Confio Ignite, we've been able to examine SQL
activity and trends during core business hours and quickly identify
and remediate underperforming SQL," said Dan Young, Manager of
Enterprise Database Administration for Indiana University. "Ignite
allowed us to identify and fully address the most intensive
Decision Support SQL statement in a typical processing day, all
within the first full week after installation."</p>

<p>&nbsp;IgniteVM is the industry's first software designed
specifically to monitor database performance in a VMware
environment. By offering DBAs an unprecedented level of visibility
beyond the database and into the virtual server layers, IgniteVM
reduces the risk of database performance issues and connects IT
directors, VMware administrators and DBAs to help ensure a
successful physical to virtual (P2V) transition.</p>

<p>"IU has been a trailblazer in advancing the use of databases on
VMware, which underscores the University's commitment to an
efficient and cost-effective IT environment," said John Ditmar,
Major Account Manager for Confio. "Ignite will help the University
IT team continue to be a leading institution in service-levels and
performance."</p>

Database Design in Live Webinar</h1>

<p>Boulder, Colo., August 22, 2012 - <a href="/">Confio
Software</a> will hold a free, live webinar event on Wednesday,
Aug. 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET, 7:00 p.m. UTC/GMT discussing how smart,
effective database design can ensure databases perform at peak
efficiency. The webinar will be hosted by Thomas LaRock
(@SQLRockstar), one of Confio's senior database administrators
(DBAs), and is designed to help DBAs learn how to choose the best
performing SQL Server datatypes, how to measure their
effectiveness, and how to correct bad datatypes decisions.
Attendees will also learn about potential consequences of choosing
the wrong SQL Server datatype, such as wasted disk space,
additional I/O overhead and decreased performance.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"Great database performance starts with great database
design," said LaRock. "Choosing an ill-fitted SQL Server datatype
can have serious consequence such as wasted disk space, additional
I/O overhead and decreased performance. It's crucial that
organizations remember that size really does matter when it comes
to database design."</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Responsys Selects Confio Ignite for
Oracle Database Performance Management</h1>

<p>Boulder, Colo., July 23, 2012- Today <a href="/">Confio
Software</a> announced that <a
href="http://www.responsys.com/">Responsys, Inc.</a> (Nasdaq:MKTG),
a leading provider of email and <a
href="http://www.responsys.com/nsm/marketing-success-model.php">cross-channel
marketing solutions</a>, selected Confio's <a
href="/performance/oracle/ignite/">Ignite for Oracle</a> database
performance management software to improve its speed-to-resolution
of database issues that could cause unwanted impact to their
customers. In one specific case, the Responsys support team was
able to easily identify a database bottleneck without the aid of a
database administrator (DBA), dramatically improving the response
time for the application users.</p>

<p>Like many enterprises using Oracle databases, Responsys
determined that conventional performance management tools were not
usable and accessible by many groups needing this type of
information, particularly non-DBAs. As a result Responsys' DBAs
were under pressure to diagnose and resolve every performance
concern that a customer had. This was a considerable time and
talent resource drain on the DBAs.</p>

<p>"After implementing Ignite we were not just able to pinpoint and
fix a particularly complex issue with database performance, but
Ignite is also so simple and elegant to use that we are now able to
have our less experienced resources identify potential issues and
prevent them from happening," said Clement Sciammas, vice president
of production software operations for Responsys. "Ignite saved us
significant DBA resources, and more importantly, it provided us
with better collaboration among all our groups."</p>

<p>After the success of the first Ignite implementation, Responsys
went on to deploy Ignite for Oracle across the entire company.</p>

<p>"Responsys' approach to giving developers and architects access
to performance information through Ignite is one that delivers
great results," said Rich Adams, Confio Regional Account Manager.
"Ignite puts accessible, easy to use information into the hands of
Responsys team members who can best use it. It's been a great
partnership."</p>

<p>Ignite for Oracle is an award-winning software solution that
identifies, analyzes and resolves performance problems affecting
applications and users. Unlike other software, Ignite doesn't just
show health metrics; it applies response-time analysis to correlate
the most important performance data to build a complete picture of
the database performance for the DBA, developer and DBA
manager.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Mountain States Health Alliance Selects
Confio for Database Performance Software</h1>

<p><strong>Boulder, Colo., July 19, 2012</strong> - Today <a
href="/">Confio Software</a> announced that <a
href="http://www.msha.com/">Mountain States Health Alliance
(MSHA</a>), the&nbsp;southeast's largest&nbsp;healthcare system
with 13 hospitals,&nbsp;has selected <a
href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite for SQL Server</a> to
help improve the performance of its vast system-wide databases.</p>

<p>&nbsp;MSHA's lead database administrators (DBAs) were
experiencing frequent slowdowns caused by poorly performing SQL
Statements and it was negatively impacting the organization's
efficiency. MSHA used management studio built into SQL Server to
troubleshoot issues, but found it difficult to pinpoint problems
because that tool provided only real-time views of the system, not
historical data. By implementing Ignite, MSHA is able to get
resolution much more quickly.</p>

<p>"Part of the reason Ignite is so helpful in identifying issues
is because it collects and trends detailed historical&nbsp;data for
30 days, which allowed us to drill to the exact moment a problem
started, and then identify the SQL statement that was performing
poorly," said Dan Griswold, IS business systems analyst II for
MSHA. "Ignite has allowed us to proactively diagnose and optimize
poorly performing SQL and create a more stable environment for our
customers."</p>

<p>&nbsp;Ignite helps DBAs, developers and DBA managers identify,
analyze, and resolve the most complex and costly performance
problems affecting applications and users. Ignite goes beyond basic
server health metrics to build a complete server performance
picture using response-time analysis and historical trend analysis.
Ignite is available for SQL Server, Oracle, VMware, Sybase and DB2
environments.</p>

<p>&nbsp;"Like most organizations in the health care field, MSHA
needs to be nimble and efficient to stay competitive, yet slow
response times can put the brakes on the entire organization," said
Max Rieboldt, Major Account Manager for Confio. "By implementing
Ignite, MSHA is showing its commitment to running an efficient
operation that can quickly respond to important customer
needs."</p>

administrators (DBAs), and is designed to help Oracle DBAs learn
how to leverage RAC and vSphere capabilities to further enhance and
stabilize the RAC failover and load balancing capabilities.</p>

<p>Among other topics, attendees will learn how to efficiently
scale a RAC environment by cloning an existing RAC VM in vSphere
and quickly adding it to the virtual environment. Gibbs will also
discuss how to monitor RAC on VMware to ensure it is operating at
the same performance level as RAC on a physical host.</p>

<p>"Running RAC on VMware is a powerful combination. Organizations
get the high-availability and cost savings of VMs combined with the
reliability and failover capabilities of database clusters," said
Gibbs. "The result can be a database system with potentially even
greater performance and reliability than a physical environment.
However, there a few key items that DBAs should know to achieve
optimum results."</p>

the real value of SQL Server extended events. The webinar will be
hosted by Janis Griffin, one of Confio's expert senior database
administrators (DBAs), and is designed to help DBAs improved their
knowledge and understanding of using extended events to proactively
monitor their SQL Server environments.</p>

<p>Those interested in attending the webinar can register <a
href="http://marketo.confio.com/SQLServerExtendedEventsJune2012_RegPage.html">
here</a>.</p>

<p>SQL Server extended events can be used to gather a wide range of
performance information and to help troubleshoot performance
issues. Many DBAs do not realize extended events use less system
resources and provide better information than SQL Profiler and they
allow for correlation of SQL Server event data alongside of OS or
Application event data.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Confio recently introduced <a
href="/performance/sql-server/ignite/">Ignite 8.2</a> which offers
expanded support for SQL Server, including more expert advice to
resolve problems, graphical analysis of execution plans, and
dashboard components to allow DBAs to track more instances and
instantly know which require attention. In addition to SQL Server
2000, 2005 and 2008, Ignite 8.2 also supports SQL Server 2012.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Releases IgniteFreeVM For Managing
Databases on VMware.</h1>

<h1 class="press-release">Newest free version of Ignite gives DBAs
visibility to Oracle and SQL Server operation on VMware</h1>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - May 22, 2012 -</strong>&nbsp;Today <a
href="/">Confio Software</a> debuted <a
href="http://www.ignitefree.com/vmware/">IgniteFreeVM</a>, a
completely free software tool designed to give database
administrators (DBAs) expanded visibility into the performance of
their bases on VMware. IgniteFreeVM is the latest in an array of
award-winning <a href="/performance/database/">Ignite products from
Confio</a> that enable DBAs and virtual machine administrators
(VMAs) to manage and improve the performance of their Oracle, SQL
Server, Sybase and DB2 databases on VMware.</p>

<p>&nbsp;IgniteFreeVM is quick to install with an easy download and
has zero impact on the monitored systems, yet it is powerful enough
to provide a view of the VMware server and storage layers critical
to an enterprise database operation. For DBAs unsure about the
interaction between databases and VMware, IgniteFreeVM offers a
no-cost, no-impact and simple solution to assure them that the
VMware server does not impact their databases.</p>

<p>"IgniteFreeVM is a natural extension of the Ignite performance
management tools suite," said Don Bergal, chief marketing officer
for Confio. "With an increasing number of enterprises taking
advantage of the benefits of virtualized servers, we're finding a
similar number of DBAs and VMAs who are requesting simple tools to
help them ensure the same high-quality database performance on
their VMware platforms as on physical servers. Because Confio is a
trusted advisor to our DBA customers we developed IgniteFreeVM
based on their immediate concerns - ensuring they can view many of
the same performance metrics on VMware as in their physical
environments."</p>

<p>IgniteFreeVM offers some of the critical functionality of <a
href="/performance/vm/ignite/">IgniteVM</a>, the industry's leading
performance management solution for VMware. The free version is
focused on real time interaction between the database and VMware,
while fully licensed IgniteVM extends the visibility to weeks and
months, and adds advanced reporting and alerting features.</p>

<p>The release on IgniteFreeVM comes on the heels of the recent
introduction of <a href="/performance/database/">Ignite 8.2</a>,
which offers DBAs custom monitoring charts, new dashboards, expert
tuning advice and more.&nbsp;</p>

<p>IgniteFreeVM is available for download today. For more

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Software Exceeds First Quarter
Sales Projections for Record Growth</h1>

<p><strong>BOULDER, Colo. - May 8, 2012 -</strong> Today <a
href="/">Confio<sup>™</sup> Software</a>,&nbsp;the makers of the
award-winning Ignite database performance analysis software,
announced the company achieved record growth during the first
quarter of 2012. This is the strongest first quarter in the
company's history and marks the ninth consecutive quarter of
double-digit revenue increases.</p>

<p>The company attributes its positive trending in Q1 to the
increased deployment of databases in virtualized environments.
Since unveiling its Ignite for VMware software solution in 2011,
Confio has helped numerous enterprise organizations realize the
benefits of operating their databases in a virtual environment and
achieve successful physical to virtual transitions. Because Confio
was a market leader in deploying performance management solutions
for this industry trend, it has successfully capitalized on its
product.</p>

<p>Ongoing enhancements to Confio's flagship product, Ignite, also
continue to fuel the company's growth and help its DBA customers
stay ahead of database performance issues. In May Confio released
Ignite 8.2 which extends the company's mission to deliver tools
that identify, pinpoint and resolve the pain points experienced by
SQL Server, Oracle, VMware, DB2 and Sybase database administrators
(DBAs).</p>

<p>"In order to continue the growth trajectory of the last two
years we've had to focus on our customers' needs and keep atop of
market dynamics," said Matt Larson, founder and chief executive
officer for Confio."</p>

<p>&nbsp;Confio expects to continue its steady and healthy growth
pace throughout 2012 as the company releases enhanced product
offerings for Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and DB2 markets, and
expansion of it VMware solution line. The company also plans to
continue expanding its team in 2012, and as a result, the company
doubled the size of its headquarters in Boulder, Colo.</p>

<p>"Heavy sales in the fourth quarter combined with a tendency to
discount prices in order to meet end-of-year revenue projections
typically makes it difficult for any company to meet - let alone
exceed - their Q1 revenue targets," continued Larson. "Our
impressive growth is a result of the hard-work and experienced
talent we have at Confio."</p>

<p>Ignite for DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, VMware and Sybase is the one
monitoring solution that identifies, analyzes and resolves all of
the performance problems affecting applications and users. Unlike
other software, Ignite doesn't just show health metrics, it applies
wait-time analysis to correlate the most important performance data
to build a complete picture of the database performance for the
DBA, Developer and DBA manager.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Enhances Award-winning Ignite
Software to Help DBAs Stay Ahead of Database Performance
Issues</h1>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - Apr. 25, 2012
-</span> Today <a href="/">Confio<span
class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a> debuted Ignite 8.2,
a newly enhanced version of its award-winning database performance
software, <a
href="/English/Technology/Response_Time_Analysis.php">Ignite</a>.
Ignite 8.2 extends Confio's mission to deliver tools that identify,
pinpoint and resolve the pain points experienced by SQL Server,
Oracle, DB2 and Sybase database administrators (DBAs).</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Enhancements for SQL
Server</span><br />
Ignite 8.2 offers expanded support for SQL Server, including more
expert advice to resolve problems, graphical analysis of execution
plans, and dashboard components to allow DBAs to track more
instances and instantly know which require attention. In addition
to SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, Ignite 8.2 also covers 2012.
This includes 169 new wait types for more detailed response-time
analysis.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Enhancements for
Oracle</span><br />
Ignite 8.2 offers new wait-time and performance monitoring
features specifically in support of Oracle Exadata, RAC and ASM.
These large systems are used in the most complex and critical
database deployments, and Ignite 8.2 gives DBAs new tools to manage
the complexity associated with these high performance Oracle
options.</p>

<p>With Ignite 8.2 Oracle DBAs can leverage monitoring for 22 new
wait events and enhanced RAC and ASM support. Ignite 8.2 also gives
DBAs performance visibility to ensure their Oracle hardware and
software are configured optimally for their specific application.
Also, SQL_ID collection and display has been added to unify
naming.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Enhancements for all
Databases</span><br />
Custom monitoring charts for Ignite users across all database
types make it easier to track any resource or business process
metric accessible through an SQL query. This flexibility makes it
easy for DBAs to watch highly customized parameters on an ongoing
basis, all from Ignite's simple graphical interface.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">International Language
Support</span><br />
For VMware, Sybase, DB2, Oracle and SQL Server, Ignite 8.2
features include multi-byte character support, which is essential
for the rapidly growing technology markets in China, Korea and
Japan.</p>

<p>"Ignite 8.2 was designed with customer feedback and the changing
database market in mind," said Don Bergal, chief marketing officer
for Confio. "DBAs are managing more instances and need a tool that
first tells them where to focus attention, then gets right to the
root cause of the problem. Speed of resolution is what it is all
about with Ignite."</p>

<p>Ignite 8.2 is available for download today. Download free trial
of all new features today from <a

Confio. "Because of this, we have invested heavily in creating the
industry's most robust and effective performance management toolset
for Oracle DBAs on both physical and virtual servers."</p>

<p>Ignite for Oracle and VMware is the one monitoring solution that
identifies, analyzes and resolves all of the performance problems
affecting applications and users. Unlike other software, Ignite
doesn't just show health metrics; it applies wait-time analysis to
correlate the most important performance data to build a complete
picture of the database performance for the DBA, Developer and DBA
manager.</p>

<p>Additionally, Ignite gathers real time session data, server
resource levels, and query information. It analyzes historical
trends of response time over different dimensions - such as wait
event, program or partition. Then Ignite correlates the data to
lead the DBA through the most important problems and solutions.</p>

<h1>inContact Selects Confio's Ignite Software for Database
Performance Management</h1>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - Apr. 9, 2012
-</span> Today <a href="/">Confio<span
class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a> announced that
inContact, the leading provider of&nbsp;cloud contact center
software&nbsp;and contact center agent optimization tools, has
chosen Ignite as its database performance management software
solution. Ignite's real-time database monitoring enables inContact
to proactively analyze and detect any potential performance issues
before they impact customers or critical business functions.</p>

<p>"One of our challenges was that an internal synchronization
module was causing billing and order entry delays," said Timothy
Hammer, director database administration at inContact. "We needed
to maximize our customer service response time and eliminate any
and all delays in these critical areas. Ignite allowed us to do
exactly that with an easy, intuitive solution."</p>

<p>Using Ignite's blocking feature, inContact was able to identify
queries that were hindering the company's billing and order system.
The team worked with its developers to optimize the database
transactions with a simple fix, and users noticed a significant
improvement right away.</p>

<p>inContact also relies on Ignite's performance metric collection
capability to load counters from inContact's own applications in
order to quickly correlate application performance to database
performance. Customized Ignite alerts are then sent to the
company's Network Operations Center and key engineers.</p>

<p>"This feature alone enables us to be so much more proactive,"
adds Hammer. "Our architects, engineers, developers and technical
support all have access to Ignite and now any one of us can quickly
detect and correct potential performance issues before they impact
customers. In short, Ignite is one of the best database tools I
have used."</p>

<p>"inContact needed a performance monitoring tool that could not
only keep up with their fast-paced environment, but go beyond
simply showing metrics and provide actionable insight," said Alison
Rogstad, account manager for Confio. "By implementing Ignite,
inContact has been able to get a complete picture of their database
performance and virtually eliminate any issues that could impede
normal business operations."</p>

<p>Ignite for DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, VMware and Sybase is the one

class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a>, the makers of the
award-wining Ignite suite of database performance tools, revealed
the results of an in-depth, independent study regarding the
performance of Oracle databases on VMware virtual servers. The
results of the analysis show Oracle performance was essentially
unchanged when moving from a physical to a VMware server
configuration.</p>

<p>The tested performance was illustrated using Confio IgniteVM, a
software tool used by database administrators (DBAs) to ensure
database performance and availability on VMware. Test analysis
showed no loss of transaction throughput, with VMware actually
running slightly faster in some cases. This performance testing in
conjunction with the <a
href="/performance/vm/ignite/">IgniteVM</a>&nbsp;monitoring results
confirm that Oracle can be run on VMware without compromising
performance or availability.</p>

<p>"We are seeing rapid adoption of VMware for Oracle hosting
throughout our installed base," said Don Bergal, chief marketing
officer for Confio. "With IgniteVM specifically focused on making
these implementations successful, our customers are achieving their
VMware migration objectives. This study backs up the findings that
with proper management, DBAs can gain the flexibility cost benefits
of VMware and still maintain performance."</p>

<p>The analysis conducted was possible using IgniteVM exclusively,
because other available database tools have visibility only to the
virtual server statistics, while IgniteVM exposes actual physical
server resources available to the database. IgniteVM gives an
accurate picture of how the database is really performing in the
virtual machine, physical server, and storage layers.</p>

<p>For full details on the performance comparison study conducted
by an independent test lab, including the methodology and
additional findings, visit&nbsp;<a

<h1 class="press-release">Fort Hays State University Selects
Confio's Ignite Software for Database Performance Management</h1>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - Feb. 14, 2012
-</span> Today <a href="/">Confio<span
class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a> announced that
Kansas-based <a href="http://www.fhsu.edu/" target="_blank">Fort
Hays State University</a> (FHSU) has chosen <a
href="/English/Products/Ignite_for_DB2.php">Ignite for DB2</a> as
its performance management software solution. Ignite for DB2
enables FHSU to analyze database performance in real time so the
database staff could be freed up for additional tasks while staying
informed of any pending database issues.</p>

<p>"Ignite is allowing us to be more strategic with how we manage
our database because we are able to look at our trend data, analyze
it by the time-slice and determine exactly what is going on at any
given time," said John Kaba, database administrator for Fort Hays
State University. "With this feature, we can schedule our more
complex batch processes and queries during slower times, and we can
ensure a more balanced load on our server. All of this helps us run
things more efficiently."</p>

<p>Ignite's agentless architecture monitors database performance
without installing any software on the production systems. As a
result of this unique architecture, FHSU was able to take advantage
of Ignite for DB2 despite legacy applications that left the
database memory-constrained.</p>

<p>"The DBA team at FHSU required a software tool that could
identify problem areas and bottlenecks before they cause an issue,"
said Bryan Applegate, account manager for Confio. "With Ignite, the
DBAs at FHSU can monitor and tune their database for the fastest
response time possible, giving them time in their day to focus on
the university's strategic I.T. needs."</p>

<p>Additionally, Ignite gathers real time session data, server
resource levels, and query information. It analyzes historical
trends of response time over different dimensions - such as wait
event, program or partition. Then Ignite correlates the data to
lead the DBA through the most important problems and solutions.</p>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - Feb. 7, 2012
-</span> Today <a href="/">Confio<span
class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a>, the makers of the
award-winning Ignite database performance management software,
announced that it achieved 71 percent revenue growth in 2011 and
more-than-doubled its employee base. Confio's financial growth in
2011 continues a series of eight consecutive quarters of sizable
revenue increases. The company anticipates continued revenue growth
throughout 2012.</p>

<p>"Confio's record-breaking revenue performance in 2011 greatly
benefits our customers because it provides us with more resources
for new product development and customer service," said Matt
Larson, Confio's CEO. "Our industry is undergoing a dynamic
transformation driven largely by virtualization and the exploding
volume of data under management - a shift we anticipated several
years ago. As a result of this foresight Confio has led in
delivering performance-monitoring solutions for enterprise
customers, and our financial strength is a reflection of that
leadership."</p>

<p>Revenue growth is attributed to several factors:</p>

<ul>
<li>A rapidly growing enterprise customer base both within the U.S.
and internationally, including in critical emerging markets such as
Brazil. Customer growth is also driven largely by the strong
reputation and value of Confio's solutions within the tightly knit
database administration community.</li>

<li>Confio's unwavering commitment to highly specialized and
responsive customer service, including in-depth technical support
both live and online, strong engagement with user communities and
accessible Confio representatives.</li>

<li>The company's thoughtful and deliberate talent recruitment of
industry-recognized DBAs, Microsoft MVPs, certified Oracle database
professionals and other highly sought-after experts who help engage
the greater DBA community while also freely imparting their
expertise and knowledge to customers.</li>
</ul>

<p>In 2012, Confio expects to continue its steady revenue growth,
led by enhanced product offerings for Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase
and DB2 markets, and expansion of the solution line to follow its
successful 2011 VMware product introduction. "We've really just
begun to the tap the potential of our market," continued Larson.
"By focusing on our core solution that solves the precise
pain-point virtually all DBAs experience, we have transformed the
database industry and delivered unquestionable value to thousands
of enterprise companies. There's no doubt that Ignite will continue
to be top-of-mind for database professionals everywhere in 2012 and
beyond."</p>

for a comprehensive SQL Server and virtual server performance
management solution. With more than 200 stores in the U.S., Canada
and the UK, as well as an international online presence, Speedy
Cash is one of the largest providers of short-term loans and
financial services in the world.</p>

<p>Using Confio's <a
href="/English/Products/Ignite_for_SQL_Server.php">Ignite for SQL

performance of several transactional and analytical applications
critical to its business. Those SQL Server applications - which run
on both physical and virtual databases - include customers'
application processing, payment processing, mailing list
developments and analytical reporting.</p>

<p>"Aside from enabling us to easily determine which queries were
having issues, the greatest benefit of Ignite is that we can
isolate different variables, such as users, machines and
applications," said Randall Neth, director of database
administration for Speedy Cash and SQL 2008 Microsoft Certified
Master (MCM). "Because our applications contain such vast amounts
of data, having the ability to slice and dice a query to determine
the root cause of performance issues is a significant
advantage."</p>

<p>Ignite helps DBAs, developers and DBA managers identify,
analyze, and resolve the most complex and costly performance
problems affecting applications and users. Ignite goes beyond basic
server health metrics to build a complete server performance
picture using response-time analysis and historical trend analysis.
Ignite is available for SQL Server, Oracle, VMware, Sybase and DB2
environments.</p>

<p>"Speedy Cash has differentiated itself on customer service,
which means that it is unacceptable for technology issues to get in
the way of its ability to serve a customer through quick payment
processing or application approval, " said Mark Tumminello,
regional account manager for Confio. "By implementing Ignite,
Speedy Cash has reassurance that if any business application
relying on database functionality is performing poorly, it can
quickly and easily trouble-shoot the issue before it hinders its
customers' experiences."</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Offers Ignite for Managing Oracle

<h3>Cost Saving Solution Smooths the Move from Enterprise to

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - July 21, 2011

Software</a> today announced a program to help cut costs for
companies considering the move from Oracle Enterprise (EE) to
Standard Editions (SE). Confio Ignite is a full featured solution
to monitor and analyze Oracle SE performance, and can replace the
Oracle features lost when users switch from EE to SE, while still
preserving the associated cost savings.</p>

<p>Oracle SE is a version of the Oracle database that offers the
core features of the higher priced EE, while removing the extra
capabilities not required at all installations. The Oracle Tuning
and Diagnostic Packs, widely with EE to manage database
performance, are excluded from SE. DBAs who depend on these
features in EE will be unable to manage their database at the same
level of performance and reliability without finding a
replacement.</p>

<p>Confio Ignite is a full featured solution that actually improves
the performance management for Oracle SE, even without the Oracle
Tuning and Diagnostic Packs. DBAs benefit from Ignite's detailed
analysis and complete independence from Oracle EE requirements.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Software Debuts VMware Database
Performance Monitoring Software</h1>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">BOULDER, Colo. - June 08, 2011
-</span> <a href="/">Confio<span class="Apple-style-span">™</span>
Software</a>, the makers of the award-winning Ignite8 performance
analysis software tool, today announced the general availability of
IgniteVM, the first software designed specifically for database
administrators (DBAs) to monitor and ensure database performance in
a VMware environment. By offering DBAs an unprecedented level of
visibility beyond the database and into the virtual server layers,
IgniteVM reduces the risk of database performance issues and
connects IT directors, VMWare administrators and DBAs to help
ensure a successful physical to virtual (P2V) transition.</p>

<p>"Despite the cost advantages of moving databases to a virtual
environment, the risk of performance and availability problems
often delay P2V transition plans," said Matt Larson, CEO and
founder of Confio. "However, with Oracle and Microsoft's
endorsement of virtual databases, P2V will happen more frequently.
IT managers need IgniteVM to give their DBAs the visibility to
troubleshoot and ensure a smooth transition to virtual
environments."</p>

<p>Virtual environments have different management requirements than
physical servers. DBAs and VMware administrators typically work in
their own isolated technical "silos" and use tools dedicated to
their needs. In surveys, fewer than 20 percent of DBAs reported
having even limited visibility or experience with monitoring of the
virtual server on which their databases run, and have no access to
VMware vCenter. This lack of visibility beyond the database can
hamstring DBAs in their efforts to react to the rapidly changing
virtual server environment, increasing the risk of performance
problems or outages.</p>

<p>"In our experience, migration of production databases to VMware
continues to accelerate in 2011. &nbsp;A key success factor in
these migrations is the ability to maintain performance and
availability. Products and best practices that help ensure
performance and availability will be an important part of a
successful virtualization project," according to Nathan Biggs, CEO
of <a href="http://www.houseofbrick.com/">House of Brick
Technologies</a>, a service provider widely recognized for its
expertise in transitioning Oracle and other databases to VMware
platforms.</p>

<p>IgniteVM reduces risk and increases visibility by combining the
essential database response monitoring available in Confio's
award-winning Ignite8 tool with non-intrusive VMware visibility.
This level of visibility ultimately increases cross departmental
cooperation between DBAs and VMware administrators, enabling both
teams to adapt to challenges of the VMware virtualized datacenter
and paving the way for IT management to speed the successful P2V
transition and maintain performance after the move.</p>

<p>IgniteVM is agentless, with no software installed on production
databases, virtual servers or vCenter. To learn how IgniteVM can
help ensure success in your database-to-VMware initiative, visit
www.confio.com or email: <a

<h1 class="press-release">Kaminario and Confio Partner to Help
Enterprises Identify and Resolve Costly Database I/O
Bottlenecks</h1>

<h3><span class="Apple-style-span">Combined solution reduces costs
by dramatically improving the speed and efficiency of database
performance</span></h3>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">NEWTON, Mass. - March 21, 2011
-</span> Kaminario, a leading provider of high performance storage
for accelerating databases and critical business applications, and
Confio Software, the award-winning developer of Ignite 8
performance analysis software, today announced a unique partnership
to identify and resolve database I/O bottlenecks. The Confio Ignite
8 and Kaminario K2 solutions will help reduce database operations'
costs by identifying and resolving I/O problems more quickly and
effectively.</p>

<p>This agreement makes Kaminario a Confio Performance Partner in
providing expert database performance solutions. The Confio Ignite
identifies when I/O bottlenecks are critically affecting data
responsiveness and Kaminario K2 resolves the problem. Working
together, the companies will enable businesses to gain access to
enterprise-class database I/O performance solutions and reduce the
costs associated with maximizing and maintaining database
performance.</p>

<p>"The combined Confio and Kaminario solution enables DBAs,
developers and DBA managers to identify I/O problems and fix them
faster for a more efficient and higher performing outcome," said
Matt Larson, CEO, Confio Software. Businesses will realize better
service from their databases and, as a result, accrue less cost in
database performance problem resolution and maintenance."</p>

<p>Kaminario and Confio have recently published a white paper
titled: Diagnosing and Resolving Slow Database Batch Processing
which highlights the overall Microsoft® SQL Server® performance
improvements that can be achieved using the Kaminario K2 storage
appliance. The Confio Ignite for SQL Server was used to diagnose
and quantify I/O bottlenecks as the performance problem causing
long delays in an SQL Server night batch process, and illustrate
the specific time and performance saving achieved by the Kaminario
K2. The paper demonstrates performance results when using the
Confio Ignite 8 for SQL Server monitoring to quickly and accurately
identify I/O issues and the Kaminario K2 DRAM storage appliance to
resolve them.</p>

<p>The before and after results of the database batch process
performance are startling. After deploying the SQL Server database
and tempdb onto the Kaminario K2 appliance, the entire database
night batch process performance improved by greater than 12 fold.
CPU utilization improved from 15 to 75 percent, and several queries
show a significant duration improvement. These tests and further
results are illustrated in the white paper which can be downloaded
from either the Kaminario or the Confio web sites.</p>

<p>"Confio Ignite provides an important service to enterprises
looking to maximize database performance and reduce the cost of
database operations and maintenance," said Dani Golan, CEO,
Kaminario. "The partnership of Kaminario and Confio will allow
companies to quickly identify DBMS issues and then address those
issues with the Kaminario K2 providing a blazingly fast solution to
application I/O bottleneck issues."</p>

<p>Confio Ignite is a comprehensive database performance solution
for both physical and virtual server environments. Ignite helps
eliminate bottlenecks, speed problem resolution, and reduce the
cost of operations for SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Sybase databases
well as VMware server environments. Confio Ignite, with its
response time analysis method, enables IT teams to isolate the
exact causes of database performance bottlenecks. Using Ignite,
database adminstrators and software developers resolve problems
more quickly and deliver faster application response to their IT
users. Because Ignite isolates the specific cause and effect of I/O
related bottlenecks, it easily identifies and quantifies the user
benefit of using the Kaminario K2 high performance appliance to
improve I/O performance.</p>

<p>The Kaminario K2 resolves time sensitive and I/O intensive
critical business application performance problems (such as OLTP
and database applications) that standard storage solutions simply
cannot support. The Kaminario K2 supports up to 1.5 million IOPs
and up to 16 GB/s throughput. It enables a 2x - 25x performance
improvement for any workload, and with no performance degradation
over time. The Kaminario K2 is based on its revolutionary Scale-out
Performance Architecture (SPEAR) which enables it to deliver
enterprise-grade performance, high availability and scalability.
SPEAR is made up of industry standard blades which makes the
Kaminario K2 easy to deploy (typically within hours) and maintain,
and supports N+1 redundancy for high availability. For more
information on how to maximize your database performance and to
submit your database for a complimentary database I/O performance
analysis, go to: Database I/O Performance Analysis.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Ignite 8 from Confio Software Named 2010
Editors' Best Award Winner by Windows IT Pro Magazine</h1>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">Nov. 22, 2010, (Boulder,
Colo.)</span> - <a href="/">Confio<span
class="Apple-style-span">™</span> Software</a> today announced that
its <a href="/English/Products/Ignite_for_SQL_Server.php">Ignite
8™</a> performance analysis software was named as a gold medal
winner of the "2010 Editor's Best Awards" in the Database
Monitoring/Performance category by Penton Media's <a
href="http://www.windowsitpro.com/">Windows IT Pro®
magazine</a>.</p>

<p>According to Windows IT Pro editors, "Confio Software's Ignite 8
is a true all-in-one performance-monitoring solution that builds
off of Ignite's original response-time monitoring functionality to
also offer routine performance statistics via intuitive
dashboards."</p>

<p>Ignite 8 helps DBAs, developers and DBA managers identify,
analyze, and resolve the most complex and costly performance
problems affecting applications and users depending on Microsoft
SQL Server, Oracle database, Sybase and DB2. Ignite 8 goes beyond
basic server health metrics to build a complete database
performance picture using response-time analysis and historical
trend analysis. In the Microsoft SQL Server community, Ignite 8 has
experienced 400 percent growth in less than two years, indicating
its popularity and effectiveness with database professionals.</p>

<p>Ben Miller, the director of database administration at Nature's
Sunshine Products and a Confio customer, told Windows IT Pro
editors that he was impressed by Ignite 8's non-intrusive nature
and the speed at which information was gathered. "We had access to
the application name, query text, executions, and reads and writes.
It has more information in one place than we had from any other
product we saw," Miller said. "Everyone is familiar with slowness
at times, but before [users] see the slowness become common, we are
in [Ignite] with alerts as well as rich graphs telling us which
queries to worry about. We have actually tuned queries before users
noticed, and they reciprocated with comments about things being
faster before they had to complain."</p>

<p>"The 2010 Editors' Best Awards-presented in conjunction with our
2010 Community Choice Awards-are a recognition of our editors',
contributors', and authors' favorite products of the year," said
Jason Bovberg, senior editor at Windows IT Pro. "Our editorial
experts' annual tradition of selecting winners based on a product's
strategic importance to market, its competitive advantages, and its
value to the customer is particularly significant to the Windows IT
Pro and SQL Server Magazine communities this year, as we call out
exceptional products in an economically tight, highly competitive
market.</p>

<p>"Our Editors' Best Awards let us leverage our contributing
editors' expertise to provide well-earned recognition to products
that exceed industry standards. This year, we've even added
valuable, in-the-trenches insight about winning products from our
reader community. We're proud to now share this invaluable
information with our Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine
communities. Our winners should be extremely proud of this honor of
recognition from our editorial experts."</p>

<p>"Being selected as a 2010 Editor's Choice gold winner validates
our customers' decision to chose Ignite 8 for their database
performance monitoring," said Don Bergal, COO of Confio Software.
"Recommendations from the DBA community as well as prestigious
industry awards like this help drive Ignite 8's growth in the
industry and cement our leadership position."</p>

Software</a> today announced that Ignite™ for Microsoft SQL Server,
the company's award-winning database performance analysis tool
designed specifically for SQL Server DBAs, has experienced record
growth of nearly 400 percent since early 2009. Confio attributes
this growth in part to the launch of Ignite 8 for SQL Server in
early 2010 and its ongoing commitment to the SQL Server
community.</p>

<p>"The Microsoft SQL Server DBA community has responded well to
Ignite 8, as evidenced by the enthusiasm and positive feedback we
receive at monthly SQL Server user groups and the dozens of SQL
Saturday events we sponsor throughout the year," said Don Bergal,
COO of Confio Software. "We have been rewarded with rapidly
escalating use of our product, and we are proud to support the SQL
Server community in return."</p>

<p>Ignite 8 for Microsoft SQL Server helps DBAs, developers and DBA
managers identify, analyze, and resolve the most complex and costly
performance problems affecting applications and users depending on
Microsoft SQL Server. Ignite 8 goes beyond basic server health
metrics to build a complete SQL Server performance picture using
response-time analysis and historical trend analysis.</p>

<p>"Since implementing Ignite 8 for Microsoft SQL Server, we now
have both real-time analysis of our database response time as well
as server health statistics," said Rodney Dauphin, Regional IT
Manager at Infor. "By having this multi-layered approach we can
instantly analyze the wait-times so we can locate and fix virtually
any bottleneck in the system."</p>

<p>SQL Server DBAs, developers and database managers interested in
learning more about Ignite 8 for SQL Server are encouraged to visit
Confio Software's booth (#402) at PASS Summit 2010, Nov. 8-11 at

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Software Unveils Free

Confio™ Software</a>, the makers of the award-winning Ignite 8
performance analysis software, today unveiled IgniteFree, the only
free response-time database performance analysis tool. IgniteFree
is carved from Ignite 8's primary feature set and gives DBAs a
point-in-time view of bottlenecks in their database. IgniteFree for
Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and DB2/LUW can be downloaded at no cost
at <a href="http://www.ignitefree.com"
title="Home | IgniteFree">www.ignitefree.com</a>.</p>

<p>Confio's IgniteFree uses the same agent-less, low-load
monitoring architecture as Ignite 8. It is designed specifically to
demonstrate the benefits of response-time based performance
analysis software: its usability, simplicity and accuracy.</p>

<p>"We developed IgniteFree to help DBAs, database developers and
IT managers do real-time performance fire-fighting," said Matt
Larson, CEO and founder of Confio. "Other free monitoring tools
only offer a few server health statistics. By placing a free
response-time analysis tool in the hands of all DBAs and
developers, we can educate the largest number of users on the
benefits of response-time analysis."</p>

<p>IgniteFree is intended for real-time analysis, showing just the
last hour of response time, server resources, query and session
statistics. DBAs can use IgniteFree to identify the queries that
consume the most resources and cause the most user response-time
impact within the past hour. IgniteFree also enables DBAs to
immediately respond to calls from application users regarding
potential database performance and impact issues.</p>

<p>Long-term trend analysis, detailed server resource statistics,
and other advanced features are not included in IgniteFree, so
users needing historical analysis, reporting capabilities, and
other advanced features can convert to a full trial of Confio
Ignite 8 simply by adding a license key. IgniteFree works with all
four monitored databases and both Oracle/SQL repositories on both
Windows and UNIX/Linux. There is no limit on seats (or users) for
IgniteFree and users can monitor up to 20 instances at a time.
Confio also has a forum available for IgniteFree users at <a

Software</a>, the leading developer of response-time based database
performance tools, today announced that bookings growth for the
2009 calendar year increased by 43% over the prior year, which
yielded the largest total revenue increase in Confio's history. The
results reflect the market success of the new Confio Ignite PI
architecture released in early 2009, and the rapid escalation of
products such as Ignite for SQL Server based on that new
architecture. In a difficult economy where many software companies
registered flat or declining results, Confio gained more new
customers and generated more license revenue than ever before.
Confio Ignite improves performance of databases and the
applications that depend on them, and helps companies reduce the
cost of operating their database infrastructure.</p>

<p>"The demand for new Confio Ignite products by both new customers
and existing sites drove sales to a record level throughout the
year," said Matt Larson, CEO and Founder of Confio, "Our products
hit the spot with customers who needed an innovative approach to
improving service delivery while keeping costs in check."</p>

<p>In early 2009 Confio began shipping its new Ignite PI products,
built on a web based, open architecture. The results throughout the
year reflected the enthusiasm around the new Ignite PI products and
the improvements in how they delivered value to customers.
Especially significant was the growth of Ignite for SQL Server,
constituting the fastest growing product in Confio's history.</p>

<p>Confio Ignite monitors, finds problems, and improves service
levels in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and IBM DB2
databases. Ignite focuses on response time, the most important
indicator of database service, and provides the deepest and most
extensive response time history of any database performance
solution across all four platforms. The latest release built on the
Ignite PI architecture, Ignite 8, correlates response time with
server health, real time sessions and expert advice for a
comprehensive performance solution.</p>

<h1 class="press-release">Confio Software Announces Ignite 8</h1>

<h2 class="press-release">Ignite Goes Beyond Response-Time Metrics
to Deliver Comprehensive Database Performance Analysis</h2>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span">March 2, 2010 - Boulder, CO
-</span> <a href="/">Confio<span class="Apple-style-span">™</span>
Software</a> today announced that Ignite 8, a major expansion of
its award winning database performance solution, is now available.
Ignite 8 expands the Ignite™ for SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Sybase
products to include comprehensive performance monitoring in
combination with the response-time analysis for which Ignite has
been known.</p>

<p>In past product versions, Ignite was often used in conjunction
with other database monitoring tools to track server health and
monitor current session activity, with Ignite providing advanced
analysis based on its unique response-time monitoring capability.
Now Ignite 8 captures both the conventional health statistics and
the more advanced response-time data and correlates them with to
deliver unmatched perspective on the database condition and how it
is affecting end user experience.</p>

<p>With the most important response-time metric now supported by
server health, and real time session data, Ignite delivers a unique
monitoring and analysis solution for database administrators,
developers and IT managers across the enterprise. Some new features
available in Ignite 8 include:</p>

<ul>
<li>Historical trend patterns ranging from 1 second to 1 year, mine
Ignite's data repository to discover clues about problem
sources.</li>

<li>Correlation of response-time with health and session data, to
show how server condition and session activity directly impact
query delays and how end user response is affected.</li>

<li>Expert analysis and recommendations, with Ignite 8 following
the rules established by Confio's expert DBAs to find and
prioritize the causes of response-time bottlenecks hidden in the
large volume of data.</li>

<li>Alarm trail that leads DBAs from high level views down through
detailed root cause information simply by clicking alarm icons to
follow the correct path to resolution.</li>
</ul>

<p>Ignite 8 user and nationally recognized SQL Server and Sybase
expert Jeff Garbus of Soaring Eagle consulting stated, "Ignite 8 is
a huge advance, because it ties the response-time analysis that
Confio does so well to the O/S data that I need to get a complete
performance picture. Correlating query performance to system
performance completes the performance picture."</p>

<p>"Ignite 8 is the biggest leap forward in capabilities in the
history of the product," said Don Bergal, Chief Operating Officer
at Confio. "The new features available in Ignite 8 were driven by
requests from customers that we tie more data to response-time so
they could depend on Ignite as a complete performance
solution."</p>
