Enhancements for SQL Server

BOULDER, Colo. - Mar. 29, 2012 - Today Confio™ Software, the makers of the award-wining Ignite suite of database performance tools, revealed the results of an in-depth, independent study regarding the performance of Oracle databases on VMware virtual servers. The results of the analysis show Oracle performance was essentially unchanged when moving from a physical to a VMware server configuration.

The tested performance was illustrated using Confio IgniteVM, a software tool used by database administrators (DBAs) to ensure database performance and availability on VMware. Test analysis showed no loss of transaction throughput, with VMware actually running slightly faster in some cases. This performance testing in conjunction with the IgniteVM monitoring results confirm that Oracle can be run on VMware without compromising performance or availability.

By offering DBAs an unprecedented level of visibility beyond the database and into the virtual server layers, IgniteVM reduces the risk of database performance issues and connects IT directors, VMWare administrators and DBAs to help ensure a successful physical to virtual (P2V) transition.

Charlie Sander passes CEO role to Matt Larson

March 16, 2010 - Boulder, CO - Confio™ Software, a leading provider of database performance monitoring and analysis software, announced that Matt Larson, Confio's Founder and CTO, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Charlie Sander, Confio's former CEO and lead investor, will remain involved in company operations as Chairman.

Sander, a 30 year computer industry veteran, took the Confio helm in March of 2004 coincident with the company's first round of funding. "I've always believed it would be a great story if I were able to hand the baton back to Matt one day," says Sander. "The surge in growth we've experienced over the past year combined with Matt's readiness for the job convinced me that the day had come."

Confio released Ignite 8, on March 2, 2010. This latest version represents the greatest product expansion in Ignite history. Ignite 8 captures both conventional health statistics as well as response-time data and correlates the information to deliver unmatched insight on database performance.
