Agentless Solution

Employing a performance solution that relies on installed software adds process burden to the production environment and defeats the goal of improving efficiency. Ideal performance monitoring is Agentless, with no software on the production database system.

Ignite's Response-Time platform remotely captures session information directly from the database instance and gathers the data in the separate Ignite PI server. For Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and DB2 environments, this architecture requires no software installation on the production server and prevents problems that often arise from agent-dependent solutions. Ignite operates with less than 1% load on the monitored servers. DBAs avoid configuration complications and circumvent the long test cycles often associated with introducing new software into critical environments.

The Ignite PI server can be any constantly available server, Windows, Linux or UNIX, and does not need to be dedicated. The Performance Warehouse database can be an Oracle or SQL Server instance, on the same or a different server as Ignite PI.
