DBFlash for Oracle 5.0 Expands Wait-Event Analysis Techniques Favored by Leading DBAs

Based on Confio’s industry-leading Wait-Event methodology, this version expands the diagnostic capabilities of DBFlash to give Oracle Database Administrators (DBAs) automated Alerts of potential problems before they affect end-to-end IT performance.

Early adopters of Wait-Event techniques have taken a reactive approach, analyzing traces of known problems only. DBFlash now provides continuous monitoring on each of a customer’s databases, then alerts the DBA to which transactions are accumulating high Wait Times. Unlike tools that simply time transactions between systems, DBFlash looks inside the database, prioritizing over 800 specific Wait-Events based on their impact upon the Oracle database.
